Mr. Payong Srivanich is the CEO of Krungthai Bank PCL, the only government-majority-owned and listed commercial bank in Thailand. With his extensive banking and global markets experience, he holds a strong and solid record of many successful transformations, including the introduction of various banking innovations that help increase efficiency and productivity in work processes, as well as empowering better life for all Thais. One of his notable achievements
is the development of “Paotang,” an open digital platform that everyone, whether Krungthai Bank customers or not, can use. By offering its 40 million users a wide range of accessible products and services covering finance, healthcare, lifestyle, saving, and investment, Paotang contributes to reducing inequality in access to the digital economy and developing the country’s economy and society.

As a result of his achievements, Mr. Payong has been recognized both internationally and domestically. Some of the prestigious awards he has received recently include Banking CEO of the Year Thailand 2024 from Global Banking & Finance Review, UK; Best CEO of the Year Thailand 2024 from Global Business & Finance Magazine, USA; Best Banking CEO Thailand 2024 from World Economic Magazine, UK; and Thailand Corporate Excellence Awards 2024 – Leadership Excellence from the Thailand Management Association.

Mr. Payong has been the CEO of Krungthai Bank since November 2016, and he currently holds many reputable positions, including the Chairman of Thai Bankers’ Association (TBA), the Chairman of the Board of National ITMX, the Chairman of National Digital ID (NDID), Co-Chairman of the Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry, and Banking (JSCCIB), and Chairman of the Nominating Committee and Independent Director at PTT PCL.

For his educational background, Mr. Payong earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Arizona and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. Mr. Payong joined Krungthai Bank in 2015 as Senior Executive Vice President, Head of Global Markets Group in January 2015. Prior to that, he served as Managing Director, Head of Global Markets & Country Treasurer at Citibank, N.A. Thailand (2008 – 2014).
